What do you say when you hurt yourself, when something breaks, or when you make a silly mistake? Is it the name of Allah or is it . . . other words?
Be honest with yourself— what’s the first thing you say when you trip or bump yourself?
Scholars say that bismillah (in the name of Allah) can also be said when a person is walking with a child in the street and the child trips, when a car accident happens, when a tire blows out, etc.
Train yourself to say bismillah in these situations. Make sure the children hear it, and revive a sunnah in a second!
