A struggle that all reverts and those who are not native Arabic speakers is not being able to read, write, speak or understand the true language of the Quran. Not only must we first learn the basics so that we may worship Allah (swt), but we also must strive to understand so that we can be sincere in our worship and learn the true message of Allah’s (swt) word.

Why is Understanding the Quran so Important?
We can find the answer in Surat Az-Zakhruf.
By the clear Book,Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur’an that you might understand. And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom. Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? [43:2-43:5]

And so those who were given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord and [therefore] believe in it, and their hearts humbly submit to it. And indeed is Allah the Guide of those who have believed to a straight path. [22:54]
Praying you will benefit.
