By Allah’s will, the chance of dying due to corona virus is less than 0.5% (this is the mortality rate of the COVID-19 disease in people whose age is less than 50 years) whereas the chance that you may die anyway, without knowing when and how is 100%. My brothers and sisters let us be smart and trust and fear The Magnificent (سبحانه وتعالى). For everything lies in his decree.

Fear is the biggest killer here. Less industrial activities and reduction in air traffic means drastic declines in pollutants around the world. The lockdown may save more lives from reduction in pollution than are threatened by the virus itself. Allah has gifted us a wonderful immune system which can fight off most of the viruses naturally. And most of the times, our body gets rid of infection without the need for medical treatment, Alhamdulilah! Only when the virus outruns the immune system, it can cause harm. So have trust in Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) my dear brothers and sisters.

As Muslims we should look at everything around as from an Islamic perspective. Indeed, the time we are in was Decree by the Al-Mighty (سبحانه وتعالى). We are scared and looking at the news and chatting with friends isn’t helping the situation. But the question is, should we worry; should we take heed in that something big is coming? My dear brothers and sisters, Allah (سبحانه وتعالى)  says:

“And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him”.(Surah At-Talaq:3)

My brothers and sisters let us be positive and leave the rest to Allah (سبحانه وتعالى). Let’s look at the opportunity we are given to stay home with our kids and loved ones. We are getting the opportunity to work at home and continue to get our important tasks done. We are getting the chance to see a day in the life of our spouse and little moments our kids share.

Of course, as wise Muslims, not only do we place our trust in Allah, but we need to try our best to take care of ourselves and our family. The Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) always emphasized on cleanliness and the importance of keeping ourselves and our environment clean by saying:

“Cleanliness is half of faith.” (Sahih Muslim)

With the spread of this virus, we are called upon to wash our hands often with soap, disinfect the environment around us, and keep our clothes and bodies clean. All of these were advice given to Muslims centuries ago. Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves.”(Surah Al-Baqarah:222)

Furthermore, we are instructed to make wudu to cleanse our body five times a day, as well as to make ghusl for the prescribed time like on Fridays for Jumuah etc.

“O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful.”(Surah Al-Ma’idah:6)

Of course, this is a challenging time as well, and we ask Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) to protect us and our family. We ask him to protect this Ummah and to forgive us for our shortcomings. And we ask him to help us through this trialing times so that we can live once again in a safe and peaceful world. Ameen.

I pray that my dear brothers and sisters, can stand with me during this testing time and help us get through to the Mercy of our Creator (سبحانه وتعالى). Ameen

My wonderful reader, Take Care and be strong, for Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) are with the believers.

Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

“Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light.”(Surah Al-Baqarah:257)

He (سبحانه وتعالى) also says:

“Say, “Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector.” And upon Allah let the believers rely.”(Surah At-Tawbah:51)
