Mobile Application Privacy Policy

Understand Qur’an Academy (“we” or “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of our users (“user” or “you”) and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. Please read this policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your information. By installing, subscribing to, accessing or using the application.

This policy describes (i) the types of information we may collect when you install, subscribe to, access, and/or use the features of Mobile Application “Tajweed Checker” developed by Understand Qur’an Academy(ii) how we use that information, and the purposes for which we collect it; and (iii) how we disclose such information

We collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we collect via the Application includes demographic and other personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, phone number, country, gender, payment information) that you voluntarily give to us when choosing to participate in various activities related to the Application. Specifically your email address which you opt-in when Sign Up or Sign In to the Application, send your recorded Qira’at for evaluation or send us your Feedback. Your email address when you sign up or sign in to the Application or send feedback is strictly used to communicate with you if necessary regarding that specific evaluation report or feedback.

We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device,
specifically your mobile device, Internet, Network Access State, External storage write permission, External storage permission, Audio or Microphone, Contacts. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings, but we can not guarantee a smooth function of the mobile application in such case.

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customised experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Application to:

  1. Your storage is used to save your recorded audio.
  2. Your storage is used to retrieve the recorded audio and play it.
  3. Your email address is used to send the tajweed evaluation report.
  4. Your email address is also used to identify you when you send your feedback.
  5. Your email address is also used to identify you when you opt for a free trial.
  6. Your payment information is needed in PayPal and RazorPay to make the payment for evaluation.
  7. Your mobile Network state data is used to check to send the recorded audio to our server.

The information we collect helps us to improve our services, attribution and to deliver a better personalized experience which may include interest-based advertising customised to individuals’ inferred interests, preferences and locations and to perform analysis aimed at improving your user experience.

The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you. Link to privacy policy of third party service providers used by the app Google Play Services, Google Analytics for Firebase and Facebook.

By using this application, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.

From time to time, Understand Qur’an Academy may partner with other affiliates to jointly offer products or services. You may opt in to share your Personal Information with our business partners if you choose to purchase or specifically express interest in a jointly offered product or service. If you do not wish for your information to be shared in this manner, you may choose not to purchase or specifically express interest in a jointly offered product or service.

We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or the Application.

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

We have implemented commercially reasonable measures designed to protect the security of your personal information.Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet and mobile platforms is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted through tour platform. Any transmission of information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures we provide.

We will retain the information you provide for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide you services, and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

We disclose the Personal Information of our users to third party vendors who help us develop and  maintain the app. These third parties are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality of your Personal Information consistent with the terms of this Policy and to comply with the applicable data protection laws.

We will disclose your information in response to valid legal process, for example, in response to a court order, a subpoena or other legal request for information, and/or to comply with applicable legal and regulatory reporting requirements. We also may disclose your information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our products and/or services and with applicable laws, or as otherwise required or permitted by law or consistent with legal requirements. In addition, we may transfer your information to an entity or individual that acquires, buys, or merges with us, or our other business units.

We are required to disclose Personal Information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

In the events above, you will be notified via email of such disclosure, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information, in accordance with applicable law.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
