How to gain rewards both for reciting Quran and for reviving a sunnah

There are certain suwar (plural of surah) that the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam used to recite frequently at certain times or occasions. When we copy this practise and encourage others to do the same, insha’Allah we will gain the rewards of reviving a sunnah and of reciting the Quran at the same time!

Two examples of suwar that the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam used to recite at certain times were Surah Al Ikhlaas* and Surah Al Kafiroon, which he recited in both the sunnah prayer before the fajr prayer and the sunnah prayer after the maghrib prayer.

To do:

  • Learn the word-for-word meaning of these surah’s and study the tafseer of them so you can learn the lessons they teach! For a word-for-word meaning of the suwar, click here.
  • Start this beautiful habit and share the knowledge with others inshaa’Allah.

*You can learn how to live by Surah Al Ikhlaas here.
